Peneliti Balai Arkeologi Jayapura, Papua, Hari Suroto menilai, koteka - pakaian untuk menutup kemaluan laki-laki masyarakat Papua - perlu diusulkan masuk dalam daftar perlindungan mendesak UNESCO.

"Hal itu perlu dilakukan mengingat saat ini kalangan laki-laki terpelajar di daerah Pegunungan Tengah dan Suku Dani yang tinggal di Kota Wamena, Papua sudah sangat jarang mengenakan koteka, kecuali pada saat upacara adat," kata Hari Suroto di Jayapura, Kamis (17/3).

Eight nurses and midwives have been arrested in West Papua for their alleged involvement in a strike resulting in a halt to services at the general hospital in Jayapura, the capital of the Indonesian-ruled province. They face charges of inciting their colleagues to take part in a strike.
The eight people are being held by the criminal investigation unit of the Papuan police command.
Police claim there is sufficient proof that the nurses had acted in violation of the law, forcing others to engage in acts of violence and citing a number of articles in Indonesia’s criminal code.
Media attempts to contact the police for confirmation of the arrest were unsuccessful.

Settler family killed in West Bank: Israel

A Palestinian infiltrator killed five Israelis in a Jewish settlement in the West Bank early on Saturday, an Israeli military spokeswoman said.

Israeli media said the attacker broke into a house in the settlement of Itamar overnight and stabbed to death a couple and three children, including a baby, from the same family.
"Five civilians were killed in this terrorist attack," the spokeswoman said.

UN asks Ukraine, Israel to provide details about Palestinian's "kidnapping"

The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees has asked the Ukrainian and Israeli governments to clarify the circumstances of Palestinian national Dirar Abu Sisi's disappearance in February.
"We would be very grateful to Ukrainian and Israeli government agencies for giving us more detailed information," spokesman for the UN Office's department in Ukraine Maksym Butkevych told Interfax-Ukraine.
"Veronika Abu Sisi informed us on February 23 about the disappearance of her husband Dirar Abu Sisi," he said.
The Palestinian is registered with the UN Middle East agency for aiding Palestinian refugees, he said, adding that if he is outside the territory under the agency's jurisdiction, he automatically comes under the mandate of the Office of the UN Commissioner for Refugees.
